Justin Ellis, 79, of , Beckley, West Virginia, passed on February 16, 2022. Justin was born on Friday, January 22, 1943 to his parents Joseph Archibald Ellis, and mother Mary Lucille Ellis in the town of Glen Rogers, West Virginia. He attended Trap Hill High School where he recieved his diploma. Shortly after graduation, he left West Virginia and moved to Chicago, Illinois where he met and wedded Charlotte Jones in 1968. He had three children, Justin H. Ellis II of Douglasville, GA, and Jamila Ellis-Brown of Chicago, Illinois, Joseph Henry Ellis(stillborn) of Chicago, Illinois. He attended True Temple of Solomon MB Church with his family, and built a life in Chicago. He worked many years as a machinist, after which he attended the American Medical Technical Institute in downtown Chicago along with his wife, and the two became Emergency Medical Technicians for Berz Ambulance. Later he began a career as a stationary engineer from which he retired. Justin always had a talent for building new things, and restoring old things to their former glory. He was creative, intelligent, precise, deliberate, and bit of a perfectionist with his craft. Justin was a strong man. He was a proud family man, and was known to the family as a protector, a provider, a father, a confidant, a helper, and an encourager to those who knew him. After 34 years of marriage, in 2002, the couple divorced, and Justin came back to his hometown of Beckley, WV where he lived out the rest of his years. Justin remained faithful and in touch with his family and friends over the years. He is preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Mary Lucille Ellis of Beckley WV, and his younger brothers Charles David Ellis of Charleston, WV, and Leonard James Ellis of Dunbar, WV, and son Joseph Henry Ellis (IL). He leaves behind two children Justin H. Ellis II(Beverly), Jamila A. Ellis-Brown(Tony), 5 grand children Brittney, Aisah, Jaquan, Justin, and Tony Jr., 2 great grand children Kenneth and Kevin Pitts-Burke, 1 sister Jo Carol Wilson of Clarksburg WV., and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and cousins.
