Life Well Lived

Juvenal Habyarimana was born March 8 1937 and died April 6 1994. He died in a airplane that was shot down by Hutu rebels and crashed. Him and Burundian president Cyprien Ntaryamira were both killed in the crash. Juvenal Habyarimana is survied by his wife Agathe Habyarimana and their 8 kids

Habyarimana did a lot for his country with his time as president. Some would call him a peace keeper makign sure that the conflicts that were happening in Rwanda didn't escalate too much. Many of the Hutu disliked him and called him a trader because he was protecting the Tutsi from getting brutally murdered.

Habyarimana went to St Paul's college and studied mathmatics and humanities then later went to Lovanium university to study medicine. In November of 1960 he returned home to Rwanda to prepare to be in the national guards while Rwanda was ruled by Dominique Mbonyumtwa their first president. Just a year later Habyarimana got promoted to second lieutenant and became the first black office in the national guard. 1973 he finally was named major general and three months later he led a group of hutu to over throw president Gregoire Kayibanda.

Juvenal was later elcected president and in 1975 he created the National Revolutionary Movement of Development (NRMD). For this he got relected in 1983 and once again in 1988 with no one else trying to run against him. He was president from 1975-1994 (the time of his death).

Although Juevenal Habyarimana was hated by many people he did a lot to keep peace in his home country Rwanda and it was a shock to the Country when people found out about about his passing and would be missed.
