KENDALLVILLE — Karen M. Bruce-Johnson, 73, of Kendallville died Monday, Aug. 1, 2016, at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne, Indiana. She was born on June 9, 1943, in Wawaka to the late Henry and Melise (Rice) Chaffee. Karen worked at Mastercraft, Inc. in Shipshewana, Indiana. On Dec. 3, 1995, she married Richard L. Johnson. He preceded her in death on Aug. 26, 2014. Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Heidi and Mike Trivett of LaGrange; a son, Harold L. Bruce of Wolcottville, Indiana; five grandchildren, Tasha Bruce, Dakota Bruce, Lindsay Peoples, Katelinn Bruce and Megan Bruce; two sisters, Joan VanWagner of Wolcottville and Elizabeth Nealis of Texas; and a brother, Steve Chaffee of Hudson, Indiana. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 5, 2016, at the Frurip-May Funeral Home, 309 W. Michigan St., LaGrange, Indiana. Pastor Richard Blank will officiate the service and burial will take place in Gracelawn Cemetery, Middlebury, Indiana. A visitation will be held on Thursday, Aug. 4, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be contributed to the Maple Grove Church.
