HUDSON — Karen R. Horan, 79, of Lake of the Woods, Hudson, IN, died Friday, December 25, 2015, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne, IN. Mrs. Horan was born on August 11, 1936, in Gary, IN, to Stafford E. and Ruth D. (Stout) Eaton. In 1995, Mrs. Horan moved to Lake of the Woods from Valparaiso. She was a registered nurse for many years for Porter Memorial Hospital and Visiting Nurse of Porter County, both in Valparaiso. She was a member of Stroh Church of Christ in Stroh, IN, and was involved with the American Autistic Society. On September 27, 1954, in Valparaiso, IN, she married Kenneth Horan. He survives at Lake of the Woods, Hudson. Also surviving are: a daughter, Robin L. Simmonds of Gurnee, IL; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Richard T. Horan of Fort Wayne, Ronald D. and Cheryl Horan of Valparaiso, and Russell D. and Linda Horan of Kendallville; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and two brothers and a sister-in-law, Thomas and Joyce Eaton of Woodbury Heights, NJ and Melvin Dale Eaton of St. Louis, MO. Her parents and two brothers, James and Jack Eaton, preceded her in death. Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, December 30, 2015, at 11 a.m. at Stroh Church of Christ, 4540 S – 1100 W Hudson, IN, with Rev. Mike Hamm officiating. A committal service will take place at the Graceland Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel, 1505 E. Morthland Dr., Valparaiso, IN, on Thursday, December 31, 2015, at 11 a.m. CST. Visitation will take place on Tuesday, December 29, 2015, from 4-8 p.m. at the Stroh Church of Christ. Memorials may be made to either Stroh Church of Christ, P.O.
