We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Karen Tickner, who left this world on April 19, 2024, at the age of 45. Karen was born on March 25, 1979, in Dunedin, Florida to her loving parents Marc and Darlene Tickner.

Although Karen did not have any children of her own, she poured her love and care into her two beloved dogs, Taco and Frito. Karen studied at Countryside High School before continuing her education at the University of South Florida.

Throughout her life, Karen pursued her passion for wellness as a Pilates, yoga, and wellness coach. She also brought joy to many as she helped organize mermaid appearances at various school and city events, spreading smiles wherever she went.

When she wasn't working, Karen could be found indulging in her hobbies, which included competitive and recreational kayaking and paddle boarding. She organized races in the local community and was a certified free diver and instructor. Karen even started Ina's Mermaid School, bringing magic to all who attended.

Despite her battle with cancer, Karen always maintained a positive outlook on life and continued to inspire those around her with her strength and resilience. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
