Karen "Carolyn" Majors was born on February 8, 1959, in Taylor County, Georgia to the late Mary Alice "Searcy" Majors and Robert "Hicks" Harris. Carolyn was called home to be with God on December 16, 2017.
Carolyn was quiet, but attentive, and well-known throughout her community for her warm and inviting personality, down-to-earthiness, and positive outlook on life. She is greatly loved and truly missed by her family and many friends. She was preceded in death by three siblings.
Carolyn leaves to cherish her memories her long-time companion of 46 years, Stanley Lockhart, of Mauk, Georgia; one son, Frederick Major of Thomaston, Georgia; two daughters; Astrid Lockhart of Fort Valley, Georgia and Cassie (Kelvin) Hooten of Powder Springs, Georgia; and one grandchild, Brooklyn Ivey Hooten, of Powder Springs, Georgia.
Carolyn also leaves to mourn eight brothers and sisters: Mary Helen Pittman, Barbara Ann (Charles) Durham, Cassandra (Larry) Lucas, and Brenda Gooch, all of Butler, Georgia; Nelson (Nancy) Major and Ray (LaVerne) Searcy, all of Mauk, Georgia; Sarah Louise (Joseph) Sales and Tommy (Mary) Downs, all of Buena Vista, Georgia; one step-sister, Maxine (Lewis) Dixon and step-mother, Hattie Mae Harris, both of Butler, Georgia; one sister-in-law, Estella (John Lee) Lockhart of Greenville, Georgia, and one brother-in-law, Joe (Sandra) Lockhart of Atlanta, Georgia; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and numerous friends.
