Karen VernitaDollemoreKaren Vernita Dollemore died from complications of congestive heart failure on November 27, 2016. She was 84.She was born on March 11, 1932 in Troy, Idaho to Gust and Kathryn (Pickerd) Dahl. The youngest of seven children, she grew up in Deary, Idaho before moving to Clarkston, Washington in the late 1940s. She graduated from Clarkston High School in 1950 and completed training at Lewiston (Idaho) Business School later that same year.Karen wed William G. Dollemore in Clarkston on October 2, 1955. They shared more than 61 years together. They moved to Corvallis in 1963 before resettling in Eugene the following year. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son Douglas and his wife, Evangeline, of Silver Spring, Maryland, and two grandchildren, Emily and Kieran.Karen worked in banking for nearly 40 years, beginning as a teller at the State Bank of Clarkston. She later worked for U.S. National Bank in Eugene and Springfield as an operations officer.In her later years, she was involved in many volunteer activities including the Red Hat Society and the Very Little Theater, where she served as box office manager. She also was a volunteer in the gift shop at Sacred Heart Medical Center at Riverbend.Musgrove Family Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. A memorial service is being planned.
