Katherine Christine Teenie Mahaley Gheen, 83, of Salisbury passed away on Sunday, Nov. 27, 2016 at Glenn A. Kiser Hospice House. Christine was born on Sept. 2, 1933 in Rowan County to the late Georgia Mae Pence and the late Alford (Wyatt) Waddel Mahaley. Teenie graduated from East Spencer High School in 1952. She was a member of Providence United Methodist Church. She enjoyed gardening and puzzles. In addition to her parents, Georgia and Wyatt Mahaley, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Leon Gheen on June 11, 1997; son, Robin Kim Gheen on April 25, 2016; and sisters, Grace Kluttz on Aug. 1, 2016 and Doris Mahaley. Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Ricky Dale Gheen of Salisbury; daughter, Pamela Gheen Maile of Salisbury; sister, Betty Herion of Salisbury; grandchildren, Lisa Newsom of Salisbury and Jason Daryle Gheen of Salisbury; and great-grandchild, Hayley Kirschner of Raleigh. Visitation: 1-2p.m. Friday, Dec. 2, 2016 at Chapel in the Pines, Rowan Memorial Park, 4125 Franklin Community Center Road, Salisbury, NC 28144. Services: 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2, 2016 at the Chapel in the Pines, Rowan Memorial Park, with Pastor Aldana Allen officiating. Burial will immediately follow.
