Katherine E. Erickson1918 - 2013 Katherine E. Erickson, 95, of Kenosha passed away on Sunday, Oct. 13, 2013. She was born on Aug. 2, 1918, in Gettysburg, SD to Hilko and Mary (Kaltenback) Waalkens. Katherine married Edward Erickson in April 1939 in Monico, Wis. In her younger years she worked for various resorts in northern Wisconsin, she also worked at the Hobnob restaurant and retired from Montgomery Wards. She was a longtime member of St. Lukes Lutheran Church. Katherine enjoyed bowling, walking, gardening and babysitting children. Her greatest joy was the time she spent with her family.She was preceded in death by, her husband, Edward; her parents; and 16 siblings.Katherine is survived by, two sons, Gene (Bonnie) of Kenosha and Dan (Fran) Erickson of Tomah; four daughters, Vivian Webb of Indianapolis, Ind., Carolyn (Mel) Maierhafer of Fremont, Wis., Beverly (Ken) Zucchi of Manitowoc and Judy Simpkins of Las Vegas, Nev.; 11 grandchildren and many great and great grandchildren; her sister, Rosie Johnson of Combined Locks, Wis., as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.Memorial services for Katherine will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 18, 2013 at St. Lukes Lutheran Church (6700 30th Avenue). A visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.
