KATHERINE V. FRANGOS Winnetka, CA It is with much sadness that we announce the passing of the matriarch of the Frangos Family, our beloved Katherine Vallas Frangos. Katherine passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday September 6th. Katherine was born on December 20th, 1929 in Portsmouth, Ohio. A daughter to Greek Immigrants, she was the fourth of six children born to George and Coralia Vallas. Katherine's family moved to Camden, New Jersey when she was a young child where she remained until she married Anargiros Zacharias Frangos on June 22nd, 1952. Anargiros and Katherine moved to Southern California in 1959. Katherine was a wife to the only love of her life for 64 years, the mother to four sons, a grandmother to nine boys and three girls, and advisor to all those who had the opportunity to know her. She showered her entire family with unconditional love. Katherine started a second career after raising her fours sons. She worked as a LAUSD office manager for 15 years serving Welby Way Elementary and Capistrano Elementary Schools where she mentored staff, parents, and students alike. She retired in 1992. She was a beautiful human being outside, but more importantly inside. Katherine will be missed, but her love and lessons will be remembered and passed on for generations to come. Katherine is survived by her husband, Anargiros; her children, Zachary (Kelly) of Moorpark, CA, Stephen (Jennifer) of Houston, TX, Chris (Lisa) of Agoura Hills, CA and Anarge (Veronica) of Chappaqua, NY; her grandchildren, Stephanie, Andrew, Katherine, Eddie, Zachary, Patrick, Sarah, Sean, Nic, Matthew, Tim and Liam. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, September 10th, 6:00 p.m., at Moorpark Presbyterian Church, located at 13950 Peach Hill Road, Moorpark, CA.
