KATHERINE KEESHELBY-Ms. Katherine Thompson Kee, 68, of 424 Suttle St., Shelby, died Thursday, Nov. 3, 2016, at The Brian Center in Gastonia. She was born on Feb. 11, 1948, in Cherokee County, S.C., to the late Ed Thompson, Sr. and the late Ruby Lanier Thompson.She was formerly employed with Regal Mill in Hickory, for 10 years before becoming disabled. She also worked at Cleveland Vocational Center.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her children, Tracy Victor Kee, Sondra Lavern Kee and Christopher Shawn Kee and two grandchildren, Brooke Kee and India La'Shea Moon.She leaves behind to cherish her memory, three children, Rodney Eugene Kee and Samantha Kee both of Shelby and Libby Corry Ferguson of St. Louis, Missouri; her siblings, Ed Thompson, Jr. (Gwen), Richard Thompson (Judy), Audrey Thompson, Franny Thompson and Pearl Thompson all of Shelby; 14 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one aunt, Annie Pearl Epps of Shelby and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1 p.m., on Friday. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., on Friday, Nov. 11, 2016, at S.T. Enloe Memorial Chapel, officiated by Pastor James. L. Smith. Burial will take place Ellis Chapel Baptist Church cemetery.
