Kathleen Rowe Bush of Osceola Nevada, passed away in Ellensburg WA on September 27th, 2012.She was born on October 17th 1941 in Long Beach California to Phillip and Margaret Rowe.The family moved to Nevada when she was a preschooler and settled in Spring Valley at the Bassett ranch. They lived in a log cabin on the ranch and her early education was in a one room school house. Her teachers were her Mother, Aunt and Grandmother. She enjoyed life on the ranch, learning much about working sheep and riding horses from her Grandfather George Eldridge. As a teenager she attended the Wasatch Academy and graduated in 1959. She went to Utah State at Logan and decided to become a teacher, graduating in 1964. While there she met and married Kent Bush in 1964. The adventurous couple spent their honeymoon in a fire tower serving as scouts for the Forest Service. They moved to New Mexico where Kathy taught 2nd grade until the birth of her children, Ann and Dirk. The family moved to Nebraska, Arizona, and Washington. After her children started school she taught in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th grades. After her divorce she moved back to Ely Nevada and met the love of her life Bob Ostlund. She worked for a time at the local health food store, sharing her knowledge and passion for natural foods and remedies.Kathy loved the beautiful state of Nevada, her family, history, and arguing about politics. She was kind hearted, feisty and fiercely loyal. She is survived by her father Phillip (Dorothy) Rowe her devoted partner Bob Ostlund. Her son Dirk (Angela MacLeod) Bush, daughter; Ann (Fritz) Wichterman, grandchildren; Bridgette and Meghan Wichterman, Isaiah and Addison MacLeod, Brother; Larry (Laura) Rowe, nieces Laura, Linda, Heather and Lyra and 8 great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her grandparents George and Mary Eldridge, her mother Margaret Eldridge Rowe, and her brother Terry Rowe. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date in Nevada.
