Walz, Kathleen C.Kathleen Carol Walz, 80, a resident of Fond du Lac, passed away peacefully with her three sons by her side on June 23, 2017 at St. Agnes Hospital. She was born on January 12, 1937 to Albert and Marie (Haskett) Rickert in North Fond du Lac. Kathleen was a 1955 graduate of St. Mary's Springs High School.Kathleen was employed at St. Agnes Hospital and Radiology Fond du Lac for over 30 years. Kathleen served on the Fond du Lac City Council and the Park Board. She volunteered at Loaves and Fishes and was a friend to the Humane Society. Kathleen was an avid gardener and pet lover. She was a loving mother who would do anything for her children. Kathleen was generous with her time, a creative problem-solver, and had a positive spirit. Until the end of her life, she lived by a "no whining" rule - never complaining or questioning her life circumstances.Kathleen had a "never quit" attitude that inspired everyone who knew her, and she encouraged those she cared about to "march to the beat of their own drummer." Kathleen was full of a deep compassion for those less fortunate and an advocate for the welfare of all individuals. Kathleen was an example for all of what God wants from all of us to do His will. She left a legacy for all of us that we are proud to pass on to our children and grandchildren.Kathleen is survived by her sons, Michael Walz, Patrick Riley and Jamie (Elissa) Walz and six grandchildren Ashley, Tyler, Christian, Nathan, Brittany and Kathleen. She is further survived by her brother, John (Barbara) Rickert, her fur friends, Billy and Ben, other relatives and friends.Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Tom Rickert.Visitation: Kathleen's family welcomes relatives and friends to Zacherl Funeral Home, 875 E.
