Kathleen Dewig Hyatt was born July 6th, 1948 in Culver City California to Jack and Francis Dewig. Kathy, as she was called by many, was their second eldest child. Kathy was raised in Venice, California for most of her life. During this time she became a mother to her first born child Denise. And six years later at twenty three she had a son, Thomas. 

Kathy worked in many different fields throughout her life. She worked many years at Hamilton Aunet. However, the career she was most proud of was becoming a dental assistant and working alongside Dr. Harada who at the time was head of the California Dental Association. 

Kathy had many interests which included cooking for her friends and family, a love for music, and playing card games, cribbage being her favorite. But none compare to the love she held for her family and friends near and far. Her greatest joy in life was becoming a grandmother to her three granddaughters: Haley, Malia, and McKenna. 

She is survived by, her sister Mary Ann, brothers Jimmy, John, and Jerry, daughter Denise, son Thomas, and her three grandchildren Haley, Malia, and McKenna.
