BUTLER - Kathryn M. Thompson, 87, died Sunday, June 12, 2016 at the Laurels of DeKalb in Butler. She was born on January 27, 1929 in Stroh, Indiana, to the late Steve and Matie (Zonker) Lower. She married Glen Thompson in April of 1961 at the Nazarene Church in Butler and he preceded her in death on January 27, 1989. Kathryn was a member of the Butler Church of the Nazarene, she loved cats, playing bingo and gardening. Surviving are two sons, Nelson (RoseAnne) Lower of LaGrange, Indiana, and Max (Rhonda) Lower of Edon, Ohio. Also surviving are four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson. She was preceded in death by a half-brother, Paul Johnson, and a brother, Joe Lower, and two sisters, Mary Shue and Elizabeth Smith. Services will be held at 1 pm on Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at the H.E. Johnson & Sons Funeral Home, 212 N. Broadway, Butler with Pastor Paul A. Patton officiating. Visitation will be from 11 am to 1 pm on Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Butler Cemetery. Memorials are to the Butler Church of the Nazarene, 500 N.
