Kathryn DeLores "Dee" ZakanyZANESVILLE: Kathryn DeLores "Dee" Zakany passed away on December 18, 2016 at 4:24 P.M. at Genesis Hospital in Zanesville, Ohio. She was born on July 3, 1946 in Atlanta, Georgia to Kathryn E. Turner Gravitt and the late Rev. Henry A. Gravitt. DeLores was an active member of Market Street Baptist Church having taught the Senior High School Class for many years. She was also the Director of the Children's Choir and choreographed many holiday programs.She is survived by her husband, Theodore C. Zakany Jr.; two daughters, Michelle (Kevin) and Melissa (Darrell); four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Linda (Tom) Buzza; several nieces and nephews; and many loving friends. Included with survivors is her faithful canine friend, Sophie.In addition to her father, DeLores was preceded in death by a daughter, Maria Anne Zakany; a sister, Molly Jean Roberts; grandparents, Augustus and Naomi Gravitt, Walter Turner, and James and Ora Azalea Wise. Friends and family may call from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, December 22, 2016 at the BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE and one hour prior to the funeral service at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, December 23, 2016, at Market Street Baptist Church, 140 North Sixth Street, Zanesville, with Pastors Howard Thompson and Scott Johnson officiating.
