Kathy E. SpearWINCHESTER, Ind. - Kathy E. Spear, age 52, of Winchester, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Monday, April 25, 2011, at St. Vincent Randolph Hospital in Winchester, Ind. Kathy was born on Sept. 6, 1958, in Muncie, Ind., to Harry and Shirley (Sewell) McQueen. She graduated from Monroe Central High School in 1977, and attended Ohio State University School of Nursing. Kathy was Randolph County Mardi Gras Queen and a finalist in the Indiana Jr. Miss pageant. She attended Fountain City Wesleyan Church. Kathy worked at Reid Hospital in outpatient surgery and endoscopy. She loved her family, her church and loved to sing. Kathy had an active music ministry that included singing at several churches in East Central Indiana. Kathy is survived by her husband of 20 years, Jay Spear, of Winchester; two daughters, Chasity Butler of Bloomington, Ind., and Erin Butler of Richmond, Ind.; a very special grandson, Aidan Woods of Bloomington; her parents, Harry and Shirley (Sewell) McQueen of Sebring, Fla. Also surviving is her sister, Candy (David) Kennedy of Muncie, Ind.; and brother, David (Valerie) McQueen of Sebring, Fla.; along with several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Kathy will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 30, 2011, at the Fountain City Wesleyan Church, 5600 U.S. Hwy. 27 N., Richmond, Ind., with Pastor David Anderson officiating. Burial will follow at the Fountain Park Cemetery in Winchester. Friends and family may call at the Walker Funeral Home in Winchester on Friday, April 29, 2011, from 3-8 p.m., and one hour prior to services on Saturday at the church.
