HOPKINS, S.C. — Kathy Ann Rodesiler, 60, of Hopkins, South Carolina, passed away Friday, May 13, 2016, at Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) Charleston, South Carolina. She was born on Jan. 14, 1956 in Coldwater, Michigan, to the late Robert and Marjorie (Adams) Rodesiler. Kathy was a proud U.S.
Army veteran with 23 years of faithful and honorable service. After her retirement she continued serving by accepting a job with the South Carolina Youth Challenge for over 18 years as a master sergeant cadre and later a logistician. Kathy loved to travel and would get out on her trike and tour as much as she could and was a member of the Gold Wing Road Rider Association Chapter P in Lexington, South Carolina. She had a particular soft spot for animals and would take in all kinds of strays. She will be missed by those that love her and those she loved. Kathy is survived by her spouse of 34 years, Hilda "Dusty" Ross; a sister, Vicky Meek (Mike) of Angola, Indiana; a brother, John Rodesiler (Cheryl) of Angola Indiana; and her stepmother, Marge Rodesiler of Coldwater, Michigan. She is also survived by her nieces, Aimee McVoy (Dave) of Roanoke Indiana, Holly Deem of Angola, Indiana, and Kristy Clawson (Matt) of Angola, Indiana; and her nephews, Christopher Rodesiler (Christina) of Coldwater, Michigan, and Chad Rodesiler of Angola, Indiana. Kathy also leaves behind her "adopted" children, Elise Causey, Loretta Jones and Danielle Kontak; and a very special friend, Edwina "Toni" Gurley. A celebration of the life of Kathy will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, May 18, 2016, at The National Guard Armory, TAG Auditorium, 1 National Guard Road, Columbia, South Carolina, with full military honors to be rendered.
