Kaye "Cookie" Cockerill Saddler 1949 - 2017Springfield, IL—Kaye Saddler, 68, of Springfield, met her Lord at 4:02 A.M. on Tuesday, July 4, 2017 at her residence.Kaye was born on January 9, 1949 in Bluffs, IL to Fred and Nina Cockerill. Kaye graduated from Western Illinois University in 1971, and taught elementary school in Jacksonville, IL before moving to Springfield, IL. She worked in Springfield as an adjudicator for the Department of Human Services until her retirement. Kaye was a woman of many hats; mother, teacher, artist, seamstress, gun shooter, bridge player, gardener, fiddle player, and cooking enthusiast. She loved adventure; be it riding motorcycles with her brother, traveling to gun-shoots with her husband, venturing to NC for specialized gardening techniques, or taking Bridge classes in NYC. She delighted in her children and grandchildren, and spared no dime or sacrifice in doting over them. Kaye loved life, beauty, and wonder. She was dedicated to her family and friends. Her deep faith in Christ Jesus leads us to celebrate her life. She is survived by her husband, James Saddler; his two children, Julie Saddler and John (Terri) Saddler; her two children, Alison (Chris) Hoyt and Peter Ferguson; and six grandchildren, Zachary, Adelyn, Caleb, Zoey, Isaac, and Isabel. Cremation will be accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center prior to ceremonies.Memorial Gathering and Ceremony: Family will receive friends from 11:30 A.M. until the time of Ceremony at 12:30 P.M. on Friday August 4, 2017 at Boardman-
