We gather here today to bid farewell to Kelly Fisher, a woman whose zest for life was unparalleled, and whose adventures spanned across seven chaotic decades. From her birth on March 21, 1936, to her peaceful departure on November 25, 2023, Kelly's presence was felt by all those around her, predominantly by the waiter who always brought her Xanax at her favorite restaurant.
Kelly's greatest role in life was being a mother to Egon Fisher and Layana Dyer, a position she embraced with both vigor and frustration. She poured her heart and soul into raising them, ensuring they inherited her unique blend of eccentricity and questionable fashion choices.
As a stewardess, Kelly always had her head in the clouds, quite literally. From dodging turbulence to surviving in-flight meal tragedies, she fearlessly braved the skies, even if it meant serving mysterious meatloaf to skeptical passengers. Many will remember her for her sanitary expertise, always ensuring there were enough paper towels in the airplane lavatory to fashion a small sailboat.
Though her career may have taken her sky-high, it was Kelly's down-to-earth personality that drew people towards her like moths to a flame. Her unwavering ability to turn any mundane conversation into an impromptu stand-up comedy routine made her the life of every party and the reason why she made so many friends throughout her life.
Kelly's husband, David Fish, stood by her side through thick and thin, or at least until his death in 2013. They undoubtedly shared many cherished moments together, though sources say it was often difficult to tell whether they were sharing heartfelt jokes or just politely laughing at each other's retirement plans.
Unfortunately, Kelly's vibrant life was tragically cut short due to cancer of the liver. While she may not have won the battle against this ruthless foe, she undoubtedly went down gracefully, with her blonde hair impeccably styled and her favorite lipstick on, ready to take on the afterlife with the same zest she approached everyday life.
Above all, Kelly Fisher will be remembered for her infectious laughter, her unique fashion sense, and her inability to ever be on time. She leaves behind a legacy that will be forever etched in the memories of her two children, Egon and Layana, and her five adoring grandchildren.
So now, let us raise our glasses to Kelly Fisher, a woman who truly lived life on her own terms, never shying away from a challenge or an overly ambitious hairstyle. Rest in peace, Kelly, and may you find the ultimate adventure awaiting you in the great beyond.
Obituary written by Cousin Daisy. Rest in peace my cousin you will forever be loved and remembered.
Preston and Sons Funeral Home of Manassas is serving the family. Arrangements are being handled by Funeral Director Tonya Sanderson with care and gentleness.
Per Kelly’s wishes no funeral will be held. Instead she would like everyone to go to the beach this summer and think of her. She doesn’t want this to be a sad occasion and often thought about being with her husband and mother again.
Rest in Peace Kelly Fisher.
