PRESTON, Idaho - Kelly C. McCarthy, 48, passed away Aug. 28, 2009. Kelly was born on Sept. 30, 1960, in San Francisco, Calif., to Gordon McCarthy and Millie Bodily McCarthy. He lived in Martinez, Calif., until he was 16 years old and then moved with his family to Lahaina, Maui, Hawaii. He graduated from Lahainaluna High School in 1979 and owned and operated Kelly's Cabinets for 29 years. After serving a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Later-day Saints in the Rapid City, S.D., mission Kelly married Jan Renfrow on Aug. 7, 1990, in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. In the summer of 2004 Kelly and his family moved to Preston, Idaho. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Later-day Saints and held numerous church callings. Kelly loved working with wood and could make anything out of it. He enjoyed the outdoors, nature, four-wheeling, sunsets, birds, Dr Pepper and having a good time. Kelly is survived by his wife Jan and their six children, Jesse Bakke of Lahaina, Hawaii; Katie (Kristopher) Larsen of Rupert, Idaho; Laura of Provo, Utah; Ammon, Rebecca and Melanie of Preston, Idaho, and a granddaughter; his mother Millie Bodily McCarthy of Preston, Idaho; his father Gordon (Barbara) McCarthy of Oakland, Calif.; three brothers, Chris of Reno, Nev., and Dave (Laurie) and Marshall of Lahaina, Hawaii; one sister, Raleigh (Harry) of Lahaina, Hawaii; father and mother-in-law Frank and Jo Ann Renfrow of Emerado, N. D.; and numerous brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside ceremony that will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 3, 2009, at the Fairview Cemetery in Fairview, Idaho.
