Ken JamesZANESVILLE: Ken James, 64, of Zanesville, passed away on April 27, 2016 following a brief battle with cancer. He was born on Nov. 21, 1951 in Zanesville, a son of Juanita and the late Earl K. James. He graduated from Maysville High School in 1970 and Ohio University with a Masters in Education. Throughout his career in education, he worked as the county truant officer and also as a teacher and transportation supervisor at East Muskingum Schools. Growing up he was active in baseball, football, and bowling. As an adult he was involved in coaching. He was an avid fan of the Cleveland Browns and Indians.Ken was also a respected area antique dealer and traveled widely looking for the special piece and making many friendships along the way.He is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of 42 years Janet McKay James, sons Caleb (Lacie) James and Tyler (Amanda) James. He also has three special grandsons Colt, Wesson, and Calvin. He is also survived by his mother Juanita (Richard) Robison, two brothers Jay (Janet) James of Florida and Boomer (Rhonda) James of Marietta. Three step-siblings Glenn Wheeler, David Wheeler, and Kathy Buckey. He also leaves behind many cousins and friends.Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Sat.
