On February 10, 2024, Kenneth Franklin Goad succumbed to his long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. He was born 4 March 1936 in Hillsboro, MD.
Kenneth was a true craftsman, able to build and fix just about anything. While working he could rebuild a wrecked fire engine or ambulance from the engine block up, right down to the gold leaf lettering on the door. He was generous to a fault with his time, talent and money. He was happy to help build anything; one of his creations was to carry a sulky on your pickup truck without damage to either and they are still seen throughout the DELMARVA area. He was a great friend and several people have mentioned him driving them or a family member from the Eastern shore to Baltimore for medical treatments for years.
Kenny personified the joy of life and was always the life of the party! He loved creating things, dancing, country music, harness racing, fishing and crabbing, a good meal and above all else, his family and friends. He was a great host to many epic pig pickin’s and crab feasts over the years.
Kenny was preceded in death by two of his wives, Nancy (Ireland) Goad and Ann (Hilton) Goad; his parents, Obie Dolph Goad and Rosie Nester Goad Edwards; and all of his siblings, Sybil (Farrell) Whitson, Noble (Nettie Mae) Goad, Nellie (Tommy) Rampmeyer, Clayton (Dolly) Goad and Betty Jean (Bill) Brown.
Due to the progression of the Alzheimers, he has been and will continue to be missed by his four daughters and their partners, Karen Forseth, Yvonne Goad, Rose (Bill) Hotchkiss and Bonnie (Doug) Owens; his grandchildren, Shannon Lopez, Scott Berner, Megan Crawford, Ryan Owens and Kameron Forseth; and his great-grandchildren, Alec Sanvidge, Keira Ault, Zander Lopez and Jaxon Owens will all mourn the passing of their Pop Pop; as will his lifelong best friend, John Davidson and his wife Alice. Uncle Kenny was a favorite uncle to a score of nieces and nephews on both sides of the family and will be dearly missed.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, February 16, 2024 at Ridgley Cemetery.
