Kenneth Gene Anderson1928 - 2016Kenneth Gene Anderson, a long-time resident of Pensacola, died on Tuesday, November 15, at the age of 88. He was born on June 10, 1928 in Earlsboro, Oklahoma, and grew up in Shawnee, Oklahoma. After graduating from high school, he did two tours of service with the Army where he learned how to program computers in the 1950's. After leaving the Army, he worked for the Navy as a civilian programmer until his retirement about 1990. He loved flying and was a flight instructor for many years with the Navy Flying Club in Pensacola. He is survived by a brother, Carl V. Anderson, of Carmichael, CA, a daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Gary Dewey of Robinson, TX, a son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Marilyn Kaye Anderson of Baton Rouge, and a son, Kenneth Eric Anderson, of Cloudcroft, NM. He was preceded in death by his mother, Pearl May Edmunson Anderson Clark, his father, Franklin Pierce Anderson, and his partner of many years, Dorothy Bonifay. Dorothy's daughter, Evangela Enterkin, of Pensacola, FL was like a second daughter to him. His grandchildren are Tamara Troyer, Brandon Troyer, Mike Dewey, Paula Dewey, Erin Anderson Kymes, and Kelly Rae Anderson. His great grandchildren are Samatha Phillips, Brooke Springman, Brittney Troyer, Jeff Oliver, Matt Dewey and Courtney Voss. His great great grandchild is Xirin Oliver. Ken will be buried in his home town of Shawnee, Oklahoma. The family would like to express thanks to the fine staff at Sabal House and Regency Hospice, who took loving care of Ken during his final days. Funeral service will be at 1:00 pm, Saturday, November 19, 2016 at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Shawnee, OK with Pollard Funeral Home directing.Express your condolences in our guestbook at
