Thomas, Jr., Kenneth ArthurKenneth Arthur Thomas Jr., 76, passed away on Sunday, March 5, 2017 in Florida at The Villages Regional Hospital in the company of his wife Jeanne, his son Keith, and daughter-in-law Karen.Kenneth was born on December 11, 1940 in Kingston, PA to Lenore and Kenneth Thomas, Sr. He leaves behind his loving wife Jeanne LaFever-Thomas, his son Keith, daughter-in-law Karen, and their children Alexis and Christopher. He also leaves behind one brother, Wayne Thomas, his wife Lorraine, and their daughter Jamie.Ken's family grew when he met his wife Jeanne. He leaves behind her loving family, Jeanne's son, Steve LaFever, and wife Nancy, and their children Brandon and Eric, her son Scott LaFever and Fiancé Loly Noghreh, Son Sasha, granddaughter Kyler, and Scott's children Austin, Reid, and Sawyer, and Jeanne's daughter Donna and her children Klara, and grandchild Trevor Brown.Kenneth graduated from Plymouth high school in Pennsylvania and went on to Bucknell University where he graduated with a bachelor's degree in civil engineering. He began his career at Bethlehem Steel in Bethlehem, PA. Kenneth then moved to Vestal, NY where he continued his career with the NYSDOT. Kenneth retired in 2005. Kenneth and his wife built a home in The Villages, Florida where they currently reside eight months of the year while also enjoying his summers in Vestal, NY.Kenneth was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He enjoyed watching the games with his son and grandson. Although very stressful at times, he was always a fan to the end. Ken was a member of the Southerntiersmen Barbershop Chorus for many years, along with his own quartet Trademark. Kenneth and his wife also enjoyed golfing, bridge, and spending time with his family.Kenneth was involved with the Hope Lutheran church in The Villages as well as Saint Mark's Catholic Church in Summerfield, Florida. He enjoyed singing in the choir, he was also active in St. Vincent DePaul ministry, Breath of God Charismatic group, and a small bible study. He was also a member of the Stephen Ministries at Hope Lutheran Church in The Villages. He had a tremendous faith in God and lived it every day.A memorial will be held at Christ the King Lutheran church at 499 Plaza Drive in Vestal, NY on Friday, July 7th at 10:00 A.M.
