Kenneth Lyle BaldwinOctober 28, 1923 - February 25, 2016Kenneth L. Baldwin, 92, of Caldwell, Idaho passed away at West Valley Medical Center in Caldwell on Thursday, February 25, 2016.Kenneth was born on October 28, 1923 to Guy and Ruth Baldwin, in Caldwell, Idaho. He lived in Payette, Idaho from age 3 through 6 years old and then attended school in Caldwell, graduating from Caldwell High School in 1941. After graduation he attended N.Y.A. School in Weiser, Idaho and learned the carpentry trade. He went into the army and served from 1944 to 1946. He served in Europe under General Patton and received a Purple Heart during the Battle of the Bulge. He married his sweetheart back home, Bernice Mason, on July 29, 1945 while he was on leave and then finished his tour of duty. Upon returning home, he joined the work force, working for Carl Hanson from 1946 to 1952 and then worked for himself doing floorcovering until his retirement in 1994.In between raising his family and work, he was an active and supportive member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, Lodge #10 and the Gem of the Mountains Rebekah Lodge #5, retaining membership of 50 plus years. He was extremely proud of his membership in his beloved Order. In Kenny's world, Sunday mornings were "Pancakes at Grandpa's House", with his children, grandchildren and various animals, including the friendly squirrels that populated his yard. He was chief pancake maker and continued this tradition right up until the Sunday before he passed.Kenneth is survived by his daughter, Karen Nall of Caldwell, ID and her children, daughter, Jeri Lee Nall (Rob) of Caldwell, ID; son, Dustin Nall of Caldwell, ID; son Rick Baldwin (Cammy) of Middleton, ID and their children, son, Cody Baldwin of Boise, ID and daughter, Shelby Baldwin of Middleton, ID and great grandson, Chance Nall of Caldwell, ID. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Bernice Baldwin; sons, Gary Baldwin and Ron Baldwin and his son-in-law, Jerry Nall.The family would like to thank the nurses and doctors at West Valley Medical Center for their unwavering care and kindness to the family and Kenny in his last days.
