Kenneth E. Blutt, Lt. Col. (Ret) 66, passed away at his winter home in Yuma, AZ from cancer on February 14, 2013. He was born on July 20, 1946 to the late Helen and Joe Blutt. He lived in Ekalaka, MT through high school and graduated from Montana State University. Upon graduation he entered the
US Air Force as a 2nd Lt. He had a dedicated 20 year career as a pilot and in space operations. Upon his AF retirement, Ken continued to work in space operations for several government contractors in Colorado Springs until he fully retired in 2005.He is survived by his wife Joyce (Susmarski) Blutt, daughters Jill (Ken) Mayer and Aimee Blutt, and son Brian (Erin) Blutt, step daughters Melissa (Ben) Dalrymple and Denise (Jeremy) Chester. Ken has 9 grandchildren, Taran and Bryn Mayer, Matthew, Christopher, and Nicholas Blutt, Connor and Abby Dalrymple, Joey Heller, and Brianna Chester. Ken also has 2 sisters, Josie (Darrell) Dahlberg and Myrna (Mike) McKay, a twin brother Dennis, and brother Larry (Nancy) Blutt.Ken was an avid elk hunter, scuba diver, enjoyed taking cruises, and driving his motorhome around the country. A celebration of Ken's life will be held at his Yuma home on Sat. Feb 23 at 3:00 pm. A memorial service will be held in Colorado Springs at a later date.
