Kenneth G. HobbsKenneth G. Hobbs, 77, of Center, Mo. formerly of Springfield, Mo. passed away at 8:09 a.m. Tuesday, June 27, 2017, at Westview Nursing Home in Center, Mo.Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 30, 2017, at the
Smith Funeral Home & Chapel, in Hannibal, Mo. Pastor Dick Bishop and Pastor Chuck Adams will officiate.Visitation will be held 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service Friday at the Smith Funeral Home & Chapel.Kenneth was born on November 10, 1939 in Porterville, Ca. the son of Julies Charles and Georgia Christine (Baker) Hobbs.Survivors include his wife Jo Ann Hobbs of North Glenn, Co.; two sons, Jeffrey Hobbs of Texas and Steven Hobbs of Korea; three stepchildren, Gary Canier (Owen) of Hawaii, Douglas Canier of Santa Rosa, Ca, and Cathleen Canier of North Glenn, Co.; three sisters, Norma Lee Kramer, Cheryl Ann Adams and Gloria Jean Schwarz; one granddaughter and several nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents, Mr. Hobbs was preceded in death by one brother, Donald Charles Hobbs.Professionally Kenny was a musician and actor. He played the bass guitar in the Hobbs Family gospel band and in the Osage country and western band. Along with being a talented musician he played the Elder Priest in The Great Passion Play in Eureka Springs, Ar. for several years.Kenny was known for his white long beard which helped in playing the role of Santa Claus in Branson for several years. He enjoyed playing Santa and even was the Santa at Westview Nursing Home last year. Along with his music and acting Kenny enjoyed golfing every chance he could, fishing, camping and playing horseshoes.Mr. Hobbs was a member of the Assembly of God Church.Honorary pallbearers will be the Westview Nursing Home staff and friends.Memorial contributions may be made to the Evangel Temple Christian Center, 2020 Battlefield Rd.
