Kenneth Leo Bushway, Jr.Age: 72 • BurlingtonKenneth Leo Bushway Jr., 72, passed away peacefully with family by his side on Tues., Dec. 6th, 2016 at the UVM Medical Center in Burlington, VT.Ken was born on June 1,1944 and was a lifelong resident of Burlington. He is survived by his wife of nearly 50 years, Linda (Forman) Bushway; daughters, Tammy Niquette and Jennifer Brace; sons, Kenneth III, Shawn, Chad, Scott, and Derek; sisters, Donna Santor and Candy Trayah. He is also survived by daughters-in-law, Donna Bushway, Jodie Bushway and Josselyn Parizo; sons-in-law, Kevin Niquette and Dale Benway; and seventeen wonderful grandchildren, Devon, Caleb, Alan, Cynthia, Kenneth, Jeremy, Kayla, Derek, Cody, Cameron, Zachary, Adam, Jason, Damian, Aliya, Aiden and Ainsley, as well as several nieces and nephews.Ken was predeceased in death by his parents, Kenneth Bushway Sr. and Pearl (White) Bushway; three sisters, Beverly Fuller, Marie Garrison, and Nancy Watkins; a granddaughter, Mariah Bushway and a grandson, Tyler Benjamin.Ken lived a full life, in his earlier years he was an avid boxer and won many Golden Gloves trophies and served in the
Army National Guard. Before retirement, he worked as an outstanding welder for Queen City Metal and VT. Gas. After retirement, he enjoyed volunteering for the Burlington Parks & Rec. Dept. in various capacities; he also enjoyed the role of garden coordinator and keeper for the VT Community Garden Network at the Intervale in Burl. VT. He was an avid fisherman - he particularly enjoyed ice fishing. He loved hunting, gardening, woodworking, puzzles, gambling and spending time going from one garage sale to another with his wife, acquiring antiques.Ken did not wish to be buried at this time, instead his wishes were to be cremated and then placed in his wife's casket when it came her time to join him. A celebration of his life will take place on Fri., Dec. 9, 2016 at Noon, with Rev. Patrick Forman officiating at St. Vianney Catholic Church, 160 Hinesburg Rd., So. Burl. VT.In lieu of flowers, the family asks for contributions to be made to the "Parks Foundation of Burlington", 645 Pine Street, Suite B, Burl., VT 05401, which seeks to inspire the spirit of stewardship and philanthropy for their community's treasured parks.Arrangements are by Boucher and Pritchard Funeral Directors.Visit
