BURLINGTON - Kenneth Virgil Jahns, age 71, passed away Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at Aurora Burlington Hospital. Ken was born on August 27, 1940 in Burlington, to the late Virgil and Caroline (nee Baker) Jahns. He was a lifetime resident of Burlington and a graduate of Burlington High School. Ken proudly served in the United States Navy from 1958 until 1961. On October 27, 1962, Ken was united in marriage to Diane Krohn. Ken worked as a machinist for MICA Tool. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, playing competitive horseshoes and cards, as well as watching sports and old movies. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family. Survivors include his loving wife, Diane, their children; Ken (Ann) Jahns of Burlington, Kevin (Lynn) Jahns of Burlington, Mark Jahns of Tennessee and Scott Jahns of Burlington, grandchildren; Alyssa, Alexander, Matthew, Dustin, Samantha, Jesse, Sydney and Jacob, great-grandchildren; Jayden and Baylen, siblings; Barb (Billy) Grisham, Donna (John) Hopkins, Ronald (Debby) Jahns, John (Donna) Jahns, Linda (John) Potter, Chris (Jerry) Kloepher and Dale (Liz) Jahns, and by many nieces and nephews. Ken was preceded in death by his parents, daughter-in-law, Amy Jahns and by an infant nephew, Kenneth Hopkins. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, July 13, 2012 at 1 PM at Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home with Pastor Corrine Denis officiating. Burial will follow at Quaker Cemetery. Relatives and friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on Friday, from 11:00 AM until the time of service.
