SPENCERVILLE — Kerry Nathan Byler, age 33, of Spencerville passed away on Saturday, Jan. 9, 2016. Kerry was born on Feb. 13, 1982, in Fort Wayne to Alvin Byler Jr. and Janeen (Steury) Byler. He was a 2000 graduate of DeKalb High School and later went on to attend and graduate from Florida Culinary Institute in Palm Beach. He was a teacher at Ivy Tech Community College in Fort Wayne in the Culinary Department. Kerry loved to cook and enjoyed helping his family prepare holiday meals. He also enjoyed spending time with his nieces and nephews. Kerry had a heart and a passion for Jesus and loved to read his Bible. Survivors include his father, Alvin Byler Jr. of Spencerville; his mother and her husband, Janeen Byler-Getts and Rick Getts of Auburn; a brother and sister-in-law, Eldon and Rachel Byler of Auburn; sister, Jamie Byler of Auburn; nieces and nephews, Oliver Byler, Hattie Byler, Brendan Thomas and Madelyn Thomas; a grandmother, Barbara Byler of Dover, Delaware; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Alvin W. Byler; grandparents, Enos and Esther Steury; and two cousins, Wendy Miller and Kevin Nissley. A gathering of friends and family will be held on Friday, Jan. 15, 2016, from 2-4:00 and 5-8 p.m. at Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 S. Center St. in Auburn. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Jan. 16, 2016, at 11 a.m. at County Line Church of God, 7716 N. County Line Road East, Auburn. Officiating will be the Rev.
