Kerry was born in RockyMount, NC on May 15th, 1950 to Simon Harrington Sr and Harriett Harrington. She graduated from Central State Universtiy in Xenia Ohio in 1972 with a degree in business managment.

Kerry was a devoted mother, She enjoyed working at the print shop with her late husband Jerry Harrington, providing bussiness cards for the community of Xenia, Ohio.
