Kerry "Spider" RiveraKerry "Spider" Rivera, 50, from Wayne, NJ, died tragically on Monday, June 26, 2017 in a mountain bike accident. Kerry is survived by his loving wife Rena Mason Rivera and their three children Elijah and his girlfriend Lindsey, Ezra, and Eden. He also leaves behind his siblings Ricky, Cindy and her husband Eddie, Michael, Jason and his wife Denise, Derrick, and PJ and his wife Kita. Kerry will also be missed by mother in law Juanita Mason and his siblings by marriage Dawn, Raymond and his wife Crystal, Crystal Holman, and Ryan and his wife Shakerra, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Kerry is preceded in death by his parents Andres and Anel Rivera, his father in law Raymond E. Mason, Sr. and his sister Camille Rivera. Kerry was born on July 20, 1966 in Brooklyn, NY and raised in Passaic Park, NJ. He was a graduate of Passaic High School where he developed his passion for football and coaching, while forming lifelong and precious friendships with the "Henry Street Mob". He later coached for the Passaic and Wayne PAL football programs. Kerry is the devoted husband to his wife Rena, enjoying 25 years of blissful marriage to his best friend. His children will miss their revered and adored father, as he was their provider and the light of their lives, serving as the family's chef, chauffeur, lunch packer, carpooler, launderer, landscaper, manicurist (helping Rena with her clients) and favorite dance partner. Thirteen years ago, Kerry fulfilled his life long dream of becoming a firefighter and joined the Paterson Fire Department, treasuring the brotherhood he shared with his fellow members. He developed a robust work ethic early on in his life working for his family business, Andes Textiles. Kerry was a Golden Glove Boxer and loved his workout family at Crunch. His service to the community included working as an EMT and volunteering as a CCD teacher at Our Lady of Consolation. Dallas Cowboys and UNC Tarheels just lost their biggest fan. Fri June 30th Viewing 4-9 PM at Martinez Memorial 747 Market Street PatersonSat July 1st Funeral Service 8:30 AM followed by Mass 10 AM at Our Lady of Consolation in Wayne.
