Kevin Kort, 63, of Traverse City, Michigan, passed away in peace, on August 21, 2018. Kevin was born on March 04, 1955, in Ridgewood, New Jersey. Survived by his two daughters, Danielle and Jessica, and his son, Jacob. Preceded in death by his former spouse, Barbara Rae.
Kevin will be fondly remembered by his family as a good and loving father, a God-fearing Christian man, a distinguished attorney, and a man of many interests and capabilities. He had a calm demeanor, and a powerful, confident presence. He was brilliant in intellect, and strong through life's difficulties. He was fun-loving and creative, while also being determined and driven, with a dry sense of humor that would often elicit tears of laughter from those around him.
He enjoyed traveling and taking his family on peaceful yet exciting vacations, spoiling his kids with presents during Christmas, playing golf and bass guitar, listening to Tom Petty's music, watching Sunday night football, preparing a good meal with his cheflike skills, going on mission trips overseas in order to help build churches and feed the hungry, and playing fetch with his dogs (most of all, his beloved Border Collie, Angie). Had health trouble not taken him from this life pre-maturely, he would still be boating on West Bay with his family, captaining his way to another great anchor spot, to go swimming and snorkling in the sun.
A private ceremony for Kevin has taken place at the home of his daughter Jessica, and a memorial lighthouse is placed there in his honor.
He will be missed by friends and family until heaven reunites us all. May his spirit be blessed and free, in the love and salvation of Christ Jesus our Lord, amen.
