MOCKSVILLE — Mrs. Kimily Ann Allgood Lakey, 55, of Magnolia Avenue, passed away Friday, Sept. 26, 2014, at her home. She was born on Oct. 20, 1958, in Yadkin County. A nurse of 36 years, a highlight of Kim's career was the opportunity to complete several medical missions to Guatemala and Honduras. In addition to her father, U.G. "Lish" Allgood, she was preceded in death by two nieces, Rhonda and Alisha Allgood. Survivors include her husband, Steve Lakey of the home; a son, Grant Lakey of Mocksville; a granddaughter, Shelby Lakey; and her mother and stepfather, Peggy Allgood Patterson (Wayne) of East Bend. Also left to cherish her memory are her brother, David Allgood (Vicki); her sister, Tammy Baity (Bryan), all of Yadkinville; and three nephews, Josh Allgood (Amanda) and Michael and Turner Baity. A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, at Hardison United Methodist Church with the Rev. Lynn Cash and the Rev. Ottis Hurst officiating. The family will receive friends from noon to 2 p.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be considered for A Storehouse for Jesus, 675 E. Lexington Road, Mocksville, NC 27028.
