Kouay was a truly remarkable individual who dedicated his life to serving his family, friends, and community. He will always be remembered for his unwavering compassion, patience, and humility. Throughout his life, Kouay touched the hearts of countless people with his gentle nature and selflessness.
Kouay was deeply committed to his family. He will forever be adored as a wonderful husband to his loving wife of 60 years, Penelope Saechin. Their enduring relationship was built on trust, support, and unconditional love. Kouay was a pillar of strength for his children, Jennifer, Andrew, and Michelle. He was their guiding light, offering sage advice and instilling in them the values of honesty, hard work, and perseverance.
Being a grandfather was one of Kouay's greatest joys. He adored his grandchildren, Emma, Ethan, Olivia, and Samuel, and spent countless hours playing with them, telling stories, and teaching them invaluable life lessons. His love for his grandchildren was boundless, and he always made sure they felt secure and cherished.
Kouay was a highly respected member of the Redding community. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Smith Funeral Home in Redding, California. A memorial service will be held on September 9, 2023, at 2:00 pm at St. John's Church in Redding. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Redding Community Foundation.
