Kristian Jay Laurence, a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend, aged 34, of Bethany, Oklahoma, passed away on January 11, 2024, after a courageous battle with thyroid cancer. Born to Michael and Shanea on June 17, 1989, in Austin, Texas, she brought light and joy into every room she entered.

Kristian graduated from Akins High School in 2007 and pursued her passion for psychology at The University of Texas. Her career as a Psychologist was marked by deep compassion and an unwavering commitment to helping others.

More than her professional achievements, Kristian’s life was a beautiful portrait of love and kindness. She was the heart of her family, sharing laughter and creating memories with her husband Colton, and their children Mackenzie and Mason. Whether it was shopping with Mackenzie, cheering at Mason’s football games, bird watching with Colton, or volunteering to feed the less fortunate every Thanksgiving, Kristian did everything with a full heart.

Her vivacious spirit was infectious, especially at Longhorn games where she was undoubtedly the loudest and most passionate supporter.

Kristian’s love story with Colton began in 2006, culminating in a beautiful marriage on February 21, 2009, in Bethany, Oklahoma. They built a life rich in love, laughter, and mutual respect.

She leaves behind a legacy of love and warmth in her husband Colton; children Mackenzie and Mason; parents Michael and Shanea; siblings Destiny Thornbrue, Hayden Thornbrue, and Harper Henderson; nieces Laney Henderson and Abigale Henderson; and a vast circle of friends, cousins, aunts, and uncles, who will forever cherish her memory.

Kristian was welcomed into heaven by her grandmother Carla Curry, mother-in-law Yvonne Laurence, and aunt Lee Able.

The ceremony will be held on January 19, 2024, at 11:30 AM at Morrison Funeral Home, 6718 NW 23rd Street, Bethany, Oklahoma, 73008. A reception will follow at the same location. Pastor Thomas Gibson will lead us in honoring a truly remarkable woman whose spirit will continue to inspire all who knew her.
