It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Kristy Sims, born July 21, 1983, in Smyrna, Georgia and passed away on September 14, 2024, in Wedowee, Alabama, United States.

Kristy was the daughter of Teresa Wade and a devoted wife to Gregory Sims. She was also a loving mother to her son, Dontavian Gipson. Kristy graduated from Handley High School in 2001 and went on to work at Mohawk Industries in Roanoke for 18 years before becoming a supervisor at South Wire in Carrollton, Georgia. Kristy found pride in her job and her role in helping others.

Kristy was known for her passion for baking and spent countless hours perfecting her recipes in the kitchen. She brought joy to many with her delicious treats and warm hospitality.

Kristy was preceded in death by her mother Teresa, her beloved grandparents Michael & Linda Camp and her brother Jason Holmes. Survivors include her husband Gregory Sims of Wedowee, AL, her son Dontavian Gipson of Wedowee, AL, her mother-in-law Betty Sims of Wedowee, AL, her sisters Kelly Lane of Daegu, South Korea, Lynda Meadows of Blocton, AL, Kayla Holmes of Lanett, AL and Tiffany Wade of Carrollton, Ga.

Kristy's presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. May she rest in peace.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2024 at 1:00pm at Benefield Funeral Chapel.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:30 - 8:00pm on Friday, September 20, 2024.
