It is with great sadness that we announce that Kung Detvongsa passed away peacefully on Friday, December 9, 2022, at the age of 98, in Saginaw, Texas, while surrounded by his family.

Kung was born in 1924, in Savannakhet, Laos. After he and his wife, fled to the USA. His children, Savatdy and husband Suan resided in San Angelo and stayed with them under their care. He was an active and dedicated member of St. Paul Presbyterian Church in San Angelo, Texas.

He was deeply loved and respespected by his family while being an immigrant to the US. He was known as a patient person who dedicated his life to hard work and family. 

A gathering for family and friends will be held Thursday, December 15, 2022, at the Sumpon residence from 5:00pm to 8:30pm. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 16, 2022 at the families home and will be placed in a private tomb in at the Wat Lao Thepnimith Temple in Saginaw. A Laotion funeral will be held around 1:00pm. Family will keep the funeral to close family and relatives
