In Loving Memory

On Saturday, September 22nd, 2018, Kyler Guy Miles, loving husband, and son, passed away at age 35.

Kyler was born on June 30th, 1983 in Cincinnati, OH to Bradley and Nancy Miles. He received his Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from the University of Cincinnati in 2013, becoming a Registered Nurse who made a difference in the lives of every stranger he met. In September of 2014, Kyler wed the love of his life, Kristen Marie (Ferguson) Miles and they settled in Miamisburg, OH. The love that they had for each other was perfectly matched and they lived a life of adventure together.

Kyler may have been a man of formidable stature, yet he was a caring individual that made everyone feel at ease. While an avid gamer, whiskey connoisseur, traveler, reader, and weightlifter, his relationships with family and friends held the most importance for him. With his easy smile, loud laugh, and mischievous personality, he brought humor to any situation.

The number of people who will miss his presence is immense. Everyone who knew Kyler loved him very much. He is survived by his wife Kristen, his parents Bradley and Nancy (Riebel) Miles, his sister Kelly Miles (Jordan Frevert), his in-laws Marc and Carol (Leigh) Ferguson, his sister-in-law Katherine Johnson (Jeremy Johnson), his brother-in-law Rodney Ferguson (Dionne Ferguson), and several nieces.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the Michael J. Fox Foundation https://www.michaeljfox.org/get-involved/donation2.php.

Thank you for these kind words that so accurately describe Kyler. Though we had not spoken in a few years, we somehow remained connected longer than most of my college and grad school classmates, and it is nothing short of tragic that he is gone. As I reflect on who Kyler represented to me in my life, I am cognizant of how undeserving and blessed I feel for his kindness, compassion, and friendship. One of Kyler’s finest qualities was how he would instantaneously dispel any preconceived notion of your incapability. As a therapist, I strive every day inspire people to expand the limits of who they can be; but for Kyler, this quality came as organically as working out. Kyler connected with me on a genuine level and in ways that I never would have expected. He was astonishingly encouraging, intelligent, supportive, hilarious, curious, and generous. Kyler introduced me to a favorite computer game, to Kings Island, and to my most expensive T-shirt (a gift, obviously because his massive arms couldn’t fit into it anymore.) We had several deep conversations processing what it felt like for me to meet my new girlfriend at the time, who later became my beautiful wife and mother of our three beautiful children. In short, he had an unexpected and enlightening influence on every life he touched, and he is truly missed. May we all live life as fully as Kyler.
