Lafayette Witherspoon, beloved husband, father, and chef, passed away on July 22, 2025, in Amarillo, Texas at the age of 65.

Born on May 10, 1960, to Melvin and Diane Witherspoon, Lafayette grew up in a loving home with his siblings. In 2012, he married the love of his life, Tavonne Turner, and together they raised four wonderful children: April, Kelsie, Aubrey, and Tiana.

Lafayette was a talented chef who found joy in creating delicious meals for his family and friends. His culinary skills were matched only by his kind heart and infectious sense of humor.

When he wasn't in the kitchen, Lafayette enjoyed spending time with his seven grandchildren and sharing his love of cooking with them.

Lafayette will be remembered for his warm smile, his delicious dishes, and his unwavering love for his family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
