Laima Berzins77, of Indianapolis, passed away on July 29, 2017. She was born on September 11, 1939 to the late Ernests and Elza Karlovs. Laima was a food service professional for a number of years, including roles as chef and dietary manager. She was very involved in the Latvian community and the "Daugavas Vanagi" organization. Laima was also the head chef at Latvian Center "Garezers" in Three Rivers Michigan, from 1982-1986.Laima was preceded in passing by her husband, Maksis Berzins, and her sister, Arija Carter. She is survived by her children Maris and Gunta Berzins, daughter-in-law Inta Berzins and grandson Nils Berzins.A memorial service will be held in October. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Latvian Center "Garezers". Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Flanner and Buchanan - Broad Ripple.
