Lala Salazar, 88, a resident of Las Vegas for the past 12 years, formerly a longtime resident of Holman, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 23, 2014, in Las Vegas.She was born on May 23, 1926, in Agua Negra to the late Lucaria Martinez.Lala was a homemaker. She enjoyed sewing and crocheting. She enjoyed homemade tortillas with butter, she was a gardener and small time rancher and she loved watering her orchard, most of all Lala enjoyed her sweet snacks, especially her Cheetos, Jello and Tootsie Roll pops.She was preceded in death by her son, Lawrence Salazar; infant son, Isidore Salazar; husband, Nazario Salazar; brothers and sisters, Estolano Martinez, Teresina Hurtado, Theodorita Baca, Prudencia Reyes, Matias Martinez, and Benny Martinez; and mother, Lucaria Martinez.She is survived by her daughter, Marcella Ashe and husband, Joseph of Albuquerque; son, Nazario "Adolph" Salazar and wife, Becky and family of Las Vegas, Nev.; daughters, Genieve L. White (Ray) of Henderson, Nev., Eula Salazar (Benjamin) of Las Vegas; grandchildren, Alan, Darryl, James, Salena, Liane, Lindsey, Karl, Theo and Matthew; great-grandchildren, Aaron, Alan, Haley, Liana and Jezelle; numerous great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.Prayer services will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 2 at Cornerstone Church (2207 Seventh St.) in Las Vegas, N.M. Funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 3 also at Cornerstone Church in Las Vegas, with Pastor Chris Armijo officiating. Interment will follow at La Morada de San Isidro Cemetery in Holman with the following serving as casket bearers: James Salazar, Steve Martinez, Diego Guillen, Mario Guillen, Alan Ashe, Darryl Ashe, Dino Guillen and Francisco Hurtado.
