LaMar "Bud" Myron LongLaMar (Bud) Long, 94, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2016, at a local health care center. LaMar was raised by William and Irene Gamble Long. He was born on July 22, 1922 in Logan, UT. Bud was raised in Franklin, ID and graduated from Franklin High School, lettering in Baseball, Football, Basketball, and Horseshoes. He met Ardella Anderson while attending school at Idaho State University, where he studied in the Vo-tech department. They were married in the Salt Lake LDS Temple in February 1944. During WWII he went into the Army/Air Force where he was trained as a B17 Gunner, earning him the rank of Staff Sergeant. It was during a furlough in the war that he came home to marry Ardella, his wife of 72 years. Bud worked as a Foreman at Flaherty Manufacturing. He was an engineer at Pitney Bowes where he retired. Bud was known as the man that could fix everything. Living in Pocatello the last 60+ years, they raised their four children. Throughout Bud's life he lived in Nebraska, California, and Idaho. He was a member of the LDS Church, where he held many callings, including a mission at the Family History Center.He is survived by his wife, Ardella; his four children, Steven (Ardana) Long, Carol (Stephen) Chatterton, David (Deanna) Long, all of Pocatello, ID and Diana (Brian) Crane, Sparks, NV; 19 grandchildren, and 30 great-grandchildren, with two more on the way. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at 11 am at the LDS Meadowbrook Chapel, located at 300 E. Chapel Rd, Pocatello, ID 83201. Visitation will be held on Monday, September 5, 2016 from 6-8 pm at Colonial Funeral Home, 2005 S. 4th Ave. in Pocatello and again at the church one hour prior to services. Burial, with Military Honors, will follow at Restlawn Memorial Gardens. Condolences may be made online at www.colonial-funeralhome.com
