Lamar C. SenftOctober 8, 1934 - November 25, 2016Spring GroveLamar C. Senft, 82, passed away on November 25, 2016 at home surrounded by his family. He was the loving husband of Gloria (Harman) Senft; together they shared over 56 years of marriage. Lamar was born on October 8, 1934 in Stoverstown, and was the son of the late Paul and Nora (Strausbaugh) Senft; he was one of eleven children. He proudly served his country during the
Korean War and was honorably discharged and is a member of the USS Casa Grande Reunion. He worked for Young & Stine Construction for many years and was the former owner of the Stoverstown Inn. He was also a member of the West York
VFW Post 8951 and was a lifetime member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Stoverstown. In addition to his wife, Gloria, Lamar is survived by his son, Brian Senft of Elkridge, MD; his daughter, Lori Ricks and husband, Joe of Abingdon, MD; his granddaughter, Kayla; his grandson, Joey; his brother,s Ed Senft of Spring Grove and Dennis Senft of Costa Mesa, CA; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by six brothers; and two sisters. A funeral service in celebration of his life will be held on Tuesday at 10 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 4767 Lehman Rd., Spring Grove, with the Rev. Bradley Dayett officiating. Interment will follow at St. Paul Union Cemetery in Stoverstown. The family services are under the direction of Beck Funeral Home & Cremation Service Inc. of Spring Grove.
