LaMonte Miller, 35, of Harvey, Illinois, passed Sunday, March 03, 2019. LaMonte was born to Leroy Miller, and Yolanda Cole, February 03, 1984 in Harvey, Illinois.

LaMonte was a great son, father and brother. He loved to help his grandmother, every chance he got. He called her his Butterfly. LaMonte joined the New Shining Light Church of God and Christ at the age of 9. He loved playing the drums, singing, and directing the choir all at the tender age of 11. LaMonte excelled at everything he did including basketball, baseball, and football which he said was inspired by his mother because she loves sports. LaMonte graduated at the top of his class and received a full academic scholarship to the University of Memphis, where he would later call his second home. Lamonte had the pleasure of playing football with Michael Oher who he invited home with him on Thanksgiving. He excelled in college academically and socially  and he met and found the love of his life Mariah. He married Mariah Sims in 2016, and they lived together in Harbor Town, Memphis . They had a son Lamar and a daughter Lavia and he loved them dearly. LaMonte worked at Aegir Systems, Inc. for the last 9 years of his young life, where he was promoted to Senior Engineering Technician after 4 years of service.  He also volunteered at the New Shining Light Church, Advocate Christ Hospital, He was funny, charismatic, charming and was passionate about affecting the most positive change in people. LaMonte always called his mother and sister's  daily to tell them how much he loved them. He always had a perfect smile on his face. LaMonte leaves to cherish his memories his wife Mariah, his children Lavia and Lamar, his Grandmother Evelyn, his Grandfather Troy, Mother Yolanda (Antonio) Cole, his sister's LaShawn (Terrance) Cherry, Lenita (Jaquai) Miller, Lanee( Devon) McGuire. And a host of Aunts, Uncle's and cousins. LaMonte is preceded in death by his Uncle James, Aunt Velma, Uncle Junior, Grandfather Enoch, and Grandmother Ester.

LaMonte is survived by 2 children: Lavia and Lamar Miller. His wife Mariah, Mother Yolanda Cole, sister's Lanee, LaShawn, and Lavia
