Lance Taylor, age 58, of Tulsa, Okla., formerly of Oscoda, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2016 subsequent to a very courageous battle with cancer. Lance was born on May 20, 1957 in Tawas to Howard and Glenna Taylor. Lance graduated from Oscoda Area High School in 1976 and moved to Tulsa, Okla. in the early 1990s, where he worked in home construction and remodeling. Lance loved to hunt, fish, serve as a church leader, and spend time with his loving wife, family, friends, and his dog, Rocky. Lance had a unique gift to connect with children and the elderly. Young and old loved his humor, wit, joy-filled spirit, and his open arms and unconditional love. Lance is survived by his beautiful wife, Michelle; mother, Glenna Taylor; step-mother, Marcia (Chris) Steele; brothers and sisters, Calvin (Brenda) Taylor, Darren (Adriana) Taylor, Gaylyn (Billy) Carter, Christy (Angel) Hernandez, Brian Taylor and Lane (Alane) Taylor. He is also survived by many special nieces and nephews. Lance was preceded in death by his father, Howard Taylor. A memorial service was held in Tulsa, Okla. An interment dedication is planned for late spring at Oscoda Pinecrest Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to Guts Church in Tulsa, Okla.
