Laoungdao Tongpasoung died peacefully on Thursday, October 19, 2017, in Apple Valley, MN at the age of 87.

She is survived by her husband, Boun along with their 6 sons, 2 daughters, 24 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren.

She was born on November 11, 1929, in Chang Mai, Thailand. She married Boun at the age of 17 through an arranged marriage. After just 3 months of marriage, she followed her husband to Laos where he served in the royal Laos army and there they started their family.

In 1975 Laoungdao’s 2 oldest sons began their journey to America and slowly through the years started bringing their siblings over. Finally in January of 1985 Laoungdao and Boun arrived in Worthington, MN.

A funeral is scheduled for Saturday, October 28, and 29, 2017 at Lao Buddhist Temple. Service will be run by head Buddhist Ah Jon Soung. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Laoungdao’s life.
