Steger, Larry JosephLarry Joseph Steger, age 70 years of Suring, Wisconsin, formerly of the Berlin, Redgranite, and Neshkoro area and Las Vegas, Nevada, passed away early Wednesday morning, August 30, 2017 at Woodland Village in Suring, Wisconsin under the care of Unity Hospice.Larry was born on November 4, 1946, the youngest of eleven children born to Alois F. and Marietta Agnes (O'Keefe) Steger. He had numerous jobs during his lifetime. He had been a pig farmer in Neshkoro, and worked at Oshkosh Truck for ten years. His many talents included building houses and building and installing irrigation systems. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, but most of all, he enjoyed playing Poker. (He visited the casino just a week before his passing.) His passion for playing Poker lead him to drive the fun bus to area casinos for many years until he moved to Las Vegas to play professional poker. He did this for four years until he decided to move back to Wisconsin for health reasons to be close to family and friends. He lived in Suring for the past year, and at Woodland Village for the past week. Larry is survived by a daughter, Marietta (Donald) Malson and a son, Peter Steger, both of Berlin; grandchildren, Dylan (Heather), Dalton (fiancé Hannah), and Mackenzie Malson; Steven, Katlyn, and Alex Steger; and a great-grandson, Lane Malson. Larry is also survived by his sisters, June (Robert) Leigh and Patricia (Robert) Kasuboski; his brothers, John (Pat) Steger and James (Bev) Steger, and his former wife and the mother of his children, Marianne (Piotter) Steger, whom he married in 1969. Larry is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and good friends, and fellow Poker lovers. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters, Arlene Barrett, Marjorie Thiel and Beatrice Stemler, and his brothers, Alois, Thomas, and Kenneth Steger, and brothers-in-law, Jack Barrett, Pete Thiel, and Joe Stemler. Funeral Services for Larry J. Steger were held Tuesday, September 5th. at 11:00 A.M. at the Ruminski Funeral Home in Redgranite. Deacon Robert Precourt, Pastoral Leader of St. Mark's Catholic Church officiated. Following these Services, Larry was laid to rest on the family plot in St. Mark's Parish Cemetery, Redgranite, WI.Relatives and Friends called from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M.
