Larry L. CoxJune 2, 1940 - Nov. 26, 2016OSCEOLA - Larry L. Cox, 76, of Osceola, IN, passed away on Saturday, November 26, 2016, at the St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Mishawaka. Larry was born on June 2, 1940, in Mishawaka, IN, to the late Clarence and Clara Cox. Larry is also preceded in death by his sister, Lorraine Udvardi. On August 8, 1987, Larry married the former Mary Jo Melrose in Osceola, IN. Larry and Mary Jo shared 29 years of commitment to each other. Larry is survived by his wife, Mary Jo Cox and his two children, daughter Michele (John) Pottratz of Boulder, CO and son, Richard Cox of Daly City, CA. Larry was a loving and caring grandfather of two grandchildren, Danielle and Brady Pottratz. Larry is survived by his sister, Betty (Jerry) Couse of Georgia and brother-in-law, Dick Udvardi. Larry is also survived by a special niece, Cheri (Rich) Lermer along with several additional nieces and nephews. Larry was a man who had “a love of life with adventure and lived with passion and boldness”, a quote from Larry's son Richard. Larry loved cooking, nature, fishing, learning new things and always had an opinion. He never knew a stranger. Larry was a fraternity member of the Mishawaka Masonic Lodge #130 and was the Past Master of the Osceola Masonic Lodge. Larry would drive children in need to the Shriners Hospital in Chicago, IL. Larry worked at Cast Products in Elkhart, IN for many years. Larry then became the Owner/Operator of Wind-O-Gard Industry from which he retired in 1992. The family will receive friends from 4:00pm until 7:00pm on Thursday, December 1, 2016, at the Bubb Funeral Chapel, 3910 N. Main St., Mishawaka, IN. The family is honoring Larry's wishes to be cremated. The family requested memorial contributions be made to the , 2211 N. Oak Park Ave., Chicago, IL 60707.
